The MacDowell Colony is a leading contemporary arts organization that provides essential support for artists by bringing together diverse, multidisciplinary talent to exchange ideas and pursue creative work. The preeminent artist residency program in the country, we have provided more than 8,100 emerging and established artists of exceptional talent with Fellowships that are awarded through a rigorous peer review process based solely on artistic talent.
Our Fellows have gone on to be recognized with 85 Pulitzer Prizes, 827 Guggenheims, 31 MacArthur grants, and numerous other prizes. By convening artists from seven disciplines on our 450-acre wooded campus, MacDowell provides the ideal blend of solitude and dynamic community for artists to share ideas, realize creative breakthroughs, and produce enduring works of art.
MacDowell welcomes all press inquiries and will consider all request for press visits. You can find recent articles about us, our press releases, and media-ready imagery in the links below.
