Wet Plate Collodion in the Field

Over the course of these three days, Joni Sternbach will lead participants through the practical concerns of working with wet collodion positives and negatives. Through two location shoots, we will explore all facets of the wet plate process and discuss the pitfalls and unique aspects of working with this popular 19th-century process. Participants will be working in pairs with large format cameras on the beach and off. Previous experience with large format photography and wet plate is encouraged, but not necessary. All equipment and chemistry will be provided.
