Tricia Romano is the former editor-in-chief of the Seattle paper, The Stranger; previously, she has been a staff writer for the Seattle Times, and has been published in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Men's Journal, Elle, Los Angeles magazine, Los Angeles Times, the New York Post, and the Village Voice, where she was a columnist for eight years. While at MacDowell, she worked on her first book, an oral history of the Village Voice, tentatively titled, Commies, Pinkos, Hippies, Queers!: An Uncensored Oral History of the Village Voice – the News Weekly that Changed the World (Public Affairs), due in October 2020.
