Seth Harp is an investigative reporter, foreign correspondent, and magazine writer. He is a contributing editor at Rolling Stone, and has also reported from Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, and Mexico for publications including Harper’s Magazine, The New Yorker, The Intercept, The New York Times, The Daily Beast, and Columbia Journalism Review. He is a veteran of the Iraq war, and before becoming a journalist was an assistant attorney general for the state of Texas.

At MacDowell, he wrote a feature on a plague of unsolved femicides on the outskirts of Mexico City. The article was published in the March 2020 issue of Harper's Magazine.

Wood

Seth Harp worked in the Wood studio.

Wood Studio, given to the residency program by Mrs. Frederick Trevor Hill, was completed in 1913 in memory of Mrs. Hill’s mother, Helen Ogden Wood. Like Schelling Studio, the building is sided with large, overlapping pieces of hemlock bark.
