Samuel Adler is a German-born composer with more than 400 published works to his name. He has also written three books about music. A retired educator, Adler taught at universities worldwide. He has received commissions from numerous orchestras, groups, and ensembles, and has won many honors and awards. Inducted into both the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the American Classical Music Hall of Fame, he has also received the Charles Ives Award, the Lilian Fairchild Award, and the Aaron Copland Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music among many others.
