Richard Kennedy is a composer, choreographer, and curator. They hold a M.F.A. from The Milton Avery Institute at Bard College and have presented work at Moma PS1, Artists Space, Danspace, Performa17, The Dreamhouse, and The Studio Museum Harlem. Additionally, they have choreographed for SSION, Chino Amobi, & DonChristian. Richard recently performed in the LA Philharmonic's Fluxus Festival.

At MacDowell, Kennedy worked on their first grand opera, HIR, which was presented prior as one act operas at SIGNAL and Performa 17, and is the first of four operas that make up The Sis Quadrology. HIR will be presented in 2019 as a part of the inaugural Open Call at The Shed (NYC).

Mixter

Richard Kennedy worked in the Mixter studio.

Built in 1927–1930, the Florence Kilpatrick Mixter Studio was funded by its namesake and designed by the architect F. Winsor, Jr., who also designed MacDowell's original Savidge Library in 1925. Mixter Studio, solidly built of yellow and grey-hued granite, once had sweeping views of Pack Monadnock to the east. The lush forest has now grown…
