Khaled Youssef is an Egyptian filmmaker who has been working on a virtual biography series on Farid Samika, an Egyptian-American renaissance man from the early 20th century who lived ten different lives before dying at the age of 35. At MacDowell, Youssef wrote six of ten chapters and edited one chapter for his project Farid, The Prequel, an experimental documentary about the life of Samika. He also began developing another road documentary project with Fellow Alex Abramovich.

New Hampshire Studio, originally named Peterborough Studio, was given to MacDowell by Mr. and Mrs. William Schofield, Mrs. H. A. Chamberlain, Mrs. Andrew Draper, and Miss Ruth Cheney. The studio was renamed in 1943. The Gilbert Verney Foundation established an endowed maintenance fund in 1990, and a bequest in memory of MacDowell Fellow Victor Candell underwrote the…
