Kevin Young is the author of eleven books of poetry and prose and director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. His nonfiction book THE GREY ALBUM was a finalist for the National Book Critics Award in criticism and recently won the PEN Open Book Award. He worked on finishing another book of essays. Young became poetry editor of The New Yorker in November 2017.

Van Zorn (formerly Kirby)

Kevin Young worked in the Van Zorn (formerly Kirby) studio.

Constructed thanks to a bequest from Sarah L. Kirby, Kirby Studio was the last new building to be erected during Mrs. MacDowell’s leadership (1907-1951).
