Kathryn Hamilton is the founder of Sister Sylvester, a performance group. Her work deals with technology and biology, and works with cross-species collaborations. At MacDowell she wrote the text for a performance lecture called Brecht Forensics. Elements of the performance have been shown at Prelude Festival, CUNY, NYC; MAX festival, SF; and Caveat, NYC. The piece will be further developed through residencies at University of Colorado and Bryn Mawr, before premiering in fall 2020.

Veltin

Kathryn Hamilton worked in the Veltin studio.

Veltin Studio was donated by alumni of the Veltin School, a school for girls in New York with a highly respected visual arts department. As the plaque just outside the entrance attests, this studio was used by poet Edwin Arlington Robinson during most of the 24 summers he spent at MacDowell.
