Joan Larkin is the author of Blue Hanuman, My Body: New and Selected Poems, and Cold River, among others. She co-edited the groundbreaking collections Amazon Poetry, Lesbian Poetry, and Gay and Lesbian Poetry in Our Time, and has served on several writing faculties, most recently as writer in residence at Smith College. While at MacDowell, she wrote and revised poetry for inclusion in the now nearly complete manuscript of her seventh book of poems, Three-Inch Day-of-the-Dead Musician. She is a recipient of the Shelley Memorial Award and the Academy of American Poets Fellowship for distinguished poetic achievement.
