George Abbe (1911-1989) was an American poet and writer. He wrote poetry and prose, both fiction and non-fiction. Many of his poems draw inspiration from the New England landscape and make extensive use of metaphor and simile. He received the Poetry Society of America’s Shelley Memorial Award in 1957.
