Erik den Breejen’s paintings have been exhibited internationally and are in collections throughout the world, including the Kistefos Collection in Norway. Den Breejen's public projects include a two-story mural commission for Atlantic Records' New York City headquarters and a commission for Public Art for Public Schools to be installed at PS24Q in Flushing, Queens in August, 2018. While at MacDowell, Erik continued work on his “Subliminal Message”s and “Stereo Paintings” series for his next solo show. He is a 2015 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in Painting.

Erik den Breejen worked in the Adams studio.
Given to the MacDowell Association by Margaret Adams of Chicago, the half-timbered, stuccoed Adams Studio was designed by MacDowell Fellow and architect F. Tolles Chamberlin ca. 1914.
