Em Goldman is a writer, composer, and pianist based in New York. Em's one-act musical Jack + Jill, written with Sarah Hammond, won the 2017 Samuel French OOB Short Play Prize, and was published in 2018. In 2021-22, she was a pianist for the Tony-winning play The Lehman Trilogy on Broadway and at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.

Goldman has received Fellowships and residencies from the Johnny Mercer Songwriting Project, the Goodspeed Writers’ Grove, and MacDowell, and has been a teaching artist at The Juilliard School, Texas State University, and Ithaca College.

At MacDowell in 2015, Goldman worked on her first novel. In 2019, she worked on a fantasy novel and scored a film featuring puppets by Poncili Creacion.

In 2022, Goldman worked on a novel and a children's songwriting project.

Mansfield

Em Goldman worked in the Mansfield studio.

The Helen Coolidge Mansfield Studio was donated by graduates of the Mansfield War Service Classes for Reconstruction Aides. Helen Mansfield helped found the New York MacDowell Club. The small, shingled frame structure with stone foundation was originally fronted on the west side by a neat white picket fence and gate, a garden, and a stone pathway…
