Corinne Spencer is a video and performance artist. She received her B.F.A. from Massachusetts College of Art + Design (2010) and attended Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture (2014). She has exhibited throughout the U.S., and has been the recipient of awards including a Franklin Furnace Fund Award (2017) and a St. Botolph Foundation Emerging Artists Award (2013). In 2015 she was commissioned by the city of Boston to present the first segment of her video installation work, HUNGER. Segments of HUNGER have since screened in the numerous exhibitions including Samson Projects at NADA NY (New York, NY, 2016), FEM_BODIED (Pittsburgh, PA, 2018), and Women Between Arts (New York, NY, 2018). Solo exhibitions include Like Muscle to the Bone, PearlArts (2016); This Eternal Thread, Inner Fields (2016); and HUNGER, BAAD! (2017).
While at MacDowell, Corinne created a new video and sound installation piece titled, TIME IS A RIVER which was shown at La MaMa, La Galleria in April 2019. This work will go on to be exhibited at Kniznick Gallery at Brandeis University.
