Christin Turner is a filmmaker and video artist. Her narrative work depicts landscape as both metaphor and means for traversing psychological terrains. Turner's use of color and light has been described as painterly, impressionistic, and psychedelic.

In residence in 2018, she completed the first draft of her screenplay, and first assembly for her essay film Dreaming in Red: Vesuvius at Home. During her residency, its form, Vesuvius at Home, had its North American premiere at Festival du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal, and its European Premiere at Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Switzerland. In June 2018 it had its world premiere at the Independent Film Show hosted by Fondazione Morra in Naples, Italy. In 2017 she received the DeFramed Prize at IKFF Hamburg and Honorable Mention for the DADA award at FNC Montreal for her film What Happens to the Mountain, which premiered at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam 2017.

Veltin

Christin Turner worked in the Veltin studio.

Veltin Studio was donated by alumni of the Veltin School, a school for girls in New York with a highly respected visual arts department. As the plaque just outside the entrance attests, this studio was used by poet Edwin Arlington Robinson during most of the 24 summers he spent at MacDowell.
