Bruce Crownover is a recently retired master printer for the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Tandem Press. He is currently producing reductive woodcuts for collaborative large-scale fine art book projects that focus on the impact of the climate crisis on the landscape. The first book in the series, The Last Glacier, illustrated the receding glaciers in Glacier National Park (thelastglacier.com). Published in 2015, it was widely collected by private collectors and institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Library of Congress. The second book, Rocky Mountain National Park: The Last Glacier, currently being hand-bound, will be published in late 2019.

While at MacDowell, Bruce completed two reductive, color woodcuts for an upcoming fine art book project, Sentinels, about the migrating western juniper and piñón pine trees of southern Utah. Each print was editioned and a series of related paintings were completed in preparation for additional prints. Crownover also began work for a book project about the effects of climate crisis on the glaciers of Baffin Island, Canada.
