Blanche M. Dombek (1914-1987) was born in New York. She was a celebrated sculpture artist, known for using reclaimed materials. Dombek's work is included in the following collections; Brooklyn Museum, NY; Currier Gallery Art, Manchester, NH; Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg, VA; and Brose Collection, Germany.

Dombek's work was commissioned by people across the U.S. and England including a commission for Isabella Stewart Gardener (Capricornus, 1969). Dombek died in an automobile accident in 1987 at the age of 73. A retrospective of her work was held in 1988 at the Sharon Arts Center in Sharon, NH.
