Aurora Masum-Javed is a poet and educator. She holds an M.F.A. from Cornell University, where she was also a lecturer in the English department. Her work can be found in Nimrod, Black Warrior Review, Winter Tangerine, Jaggery, Frontier, and others. She has received fellowships from Kundiman, Callaloo, Squaw Valley, Pink Door, and BOAAT. She was recently the Philip Roth Resident in Creative Writing at the Stadler Center.
At MacDowell, she revised and drafted new poems for her manuscript-in-progress The Daughter is an Archive. Aurora also recently received the Money for Women/Barbara Deming Memorial Fund grant for poems from the book, and will continue her work at upcoming residencies including Vermont Studio Center and Millay Colony for the Arts.
