New Hampshire Benefit

The New Hampshire Benefit for The MacDowell Colony is held each year in the Monadnock region, drawing artists, supporters, and friends throughout New England. Organized by a dynamic committee, this event engages guests in an intimate exchange with prominent Colony Fellows. Past benefits have featured appearances by Gourmet magazine editor-in-chief and memoirist Ruth Reichl; composer Fred Hersch together with poet Mary Jo Salter; filmmaker Chris Wilcha, director and co-executive producer of the Showtime series This American Life; and most recently, noted writer Ann Patchett, author of Bel Canto and Run.

Many local businesses and friends from across the state sponsor this annual event. All proceeds from tickets and sponsorships go directly to help fund Fellowships for the more than 250 artists who work at the Colony each year.

The 2010 New Hampshire Benefit will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2010. To learn more about the program, please contact Elena Quevedo at 212-535-9690 or via .
