New Hampshire Celebrates MacDowell
As the place where MacDowell began and the place where MacDowell
contributes so much, Peterborough and the state of New Hampshire will be
the site of many wonderful activities celebrating the Colony. Clicking on the following categories will provide the details to our New Hampshire program for 2007:

Peterborough Projects
Through Peterborough Projects, MacDowell brings the excitement of its
Centennial to the local community throughout the year. Artists from all
disciplines have been commissioned to create performances, happenings,
conceptual works, or arts events in the town of Peterborough through
2007. The goal of these projects is to engage Peterborough's citizens
with contemporary art and the MacDowell mission, which has served both
the local and national community these past 100 years.
Proposals for Peterborough Projects were submitted in the fall of 2006
and reviewed by MacDowell's admissions panels to identify an outstanding
set of candidates. Final selections were then made by a local arts
committee. The projects will be scheduled from January to December of
the Centennial year; to read about each of the Projects, click here.
We look forward to a year
of creativity right where that creativity began a century ago!
Cultural Partner Events
In addition to all the happenings MacDowell is sponsoring, members of
our community are also getting into the act. There are organizations
showing the MacDowell film Seasons of MacDowell , staging performances by MacDowell playwrights,
performing concerts of works by noted composers such as Leonard
Bernstein and Aaron Copland, and much more. Below are a list of those
events by our New Hampshire partners with links to their Web site for
more detail. Please contact the venue itself if you have any questions.
